Welcome to My Hideout

Skills

Much like Liam Neeson, I have a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career.
Go to Languages

Languages

Although I have written in over 20 languages, I consider my expertise to be in C/C++/Pro*C, Objective-C, Java, Perl, and PHP. Learning new languages and software is always fun and is a big part of what makes my job so enjoyable.

Go to Databases

Databases

Databases have become a common part of software. I have extensive experience in Oracle and MySQL. Database and query optimization could make technology a faster, more enjoyable experience.

Go to Soft Skills

Soft Skills

I have led multiple teams, spoken at conferences, presented at trainings, taught college courses, and even traveled out of state to troubleshoot a problem before. Delivering software on time, with constant feedback to superiors, is crucial for any developer.

Go to EDUCATION

EDUCATION

The foundation for my software knowledge started when I got a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Florida State University in 2003. It has since expanded since then due to numerous classes, trainings, conferences, projects, and late-night coding adventures.

About Me

Nole

I graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Computer Science in 2003 with a Mathematics Minor. I was a Bright Futures Scholar, a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tallahassee, and a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

After graduating with my Bachelor's, I began pursuing a Master's Degree. I was a Teaching Assistant for a Java class at FSU for the first semester. The 2nd semester I became the teacher of the same Java class, which meant I was responsible for 49 students and 2 TA's.

Upon leaving Tallahassee I followed a girl to Orlando and it was the best decision I ever made. That girl is now my wife and she has given me two wonderful kids that are the greatest joys of my life. I look forward to still growing, both personally and professionally, as I make my way through this thing called life.

My World

My rock. My soul. My inspiration. My everything.

Dena Pfenning

Wife
She finally said yes to go on a date with me many years ago, and I managed to hit the lottery on July 12th, 2008 when she said “I do”. She has blessed me with beautiful kids and is the reason our house is a home.

Andrew Pfenning

Oldest Son
This kid is so full of wonder and curiosity. His energy levels amaze me and I am constantly in awe that he can wake up at 5:00am every morning with the energy level that would make a hummingbird blush.

Dylan Pfenning

Youngest Son
This kid is so full of love and joy. His independence amazes me every day. Although the kids may look alike, they are polar opposites of each other – which means parenting this one is a new adventure every day!

Roxy

First born
Roxy is our first child and became a member of our family in February of 2011. She is one part basenji, one part pitt-bull, and 100% awesome. She loves the kids, mostly because they give her all the table scraps she can eat.
